Michelle R. from Georgia
Transcription Experience: 26 years Education: Louisiana State University (BA in secondary education) Favorite Specialty: Orthopedics Brief Bio: Transcription is a second career for me, but I have 20+ years of experience under my belt. I can do pretty much any specialty, but I'm especially proficient at orthopedics. I am the most uncoordinated person you'll ever meet so don't play sports, but I LOVE watching sports, any sport, live or on TV, but especially college football and baseball.
“I am enjoying perfecting a new skill set and love the challenging and interesting work I do with IMT! I have never worked for a company who cares about their finished product as much as they do.”

Courtney M. from Illinois
Transcription Experience: 21 years Education: University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign (minor in community health) Brief Bio: I discovered the transcription field by pure dumb luck while pursuing a second college degree, and I’ve never looked back. When I’m not playing chauffeur to two very active teenagers, you can find me at my desk with my “office assistants” close by.
“IMT has been my transcription home for many, many years. I love the high standards we are held to. We are constantly learning and improving and are valued as transcriptionists. There’s no better place to be!”

Esther O. from Washington
Transcription Experience: 28 years Education: Associate of Science in Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing Other Experience: Registered nurse Brief Bio: Aloha kākou — Hello everyone. I am originally from the island of O‘ahu but now live in Washington state. In my spare time, I like to try new cuisines and, weather permitting, to explore the outdoors or different places with family and friends. Prior to transcribing medical reports, I specialized in many areas in my nursing career (nearly a decade): med-surg, postpartum (hospital setting), and float nurse in various departments. My favorite department to work in was postpartum.
“Working with IMT, one can find lōkahi — unity expressed with harmony.”

Jamie D. from North Carolina
Transcription Experience: 19 years Education: Medical Transcription Diploma and AA in Information Technology Other Experience: Real Estate Copywriter and Legal Transcription Brief Bio: I became a transcriptionist in 2006, starting out in an orthopedics office. For many years, I enjoyed working for a great company until they decided to close the business. In 2019, I serendipitously happened upon an ad for a position with IMT, applied, and here I am! When not working, you'll find me somewhere outside, either reading a book or exploring new places.
“Even though we are all working remotely in various parts of the country, IMT feels like a tight-knit team who are always there to help one another with compassion and understanding.”

Alison C. from Indiana
Transcription Experience: 24 years Education: AA in Office Administration with transcription subspecialty Brief Bio: I was a transcriptionist/medical scribe for 26 orthopedic surgeons, assisting doctors for up to 90 patients per day. I then moved on to work for an optometrist and also worked as an auditor/proofreader for a busy orthopedic office. I enjoy traveling around the country together with my husband and our 13-year-old son and spending time at our lake house on the weekends.
“Working at IMT has been an absolute joy! I love the flexibility of working from home as an independent contractor and the freedom it allows me to still be a mom. The level of professionalism, dedication, and accuracy at IMT is unmatched, and I am blessed to be a part of their team!”

Julie E. from Illinois
Transcription Experience: 22 years Education: Western Governor's University (2017) Other Experience: Transcription supervisor; account manager Brief Bio: I have done IME work for 3+ years now, touching briefly on it before then. I also have supervisory experience as being an account manager for multiple clients and supervising 15+ transcriptionists at a time. This included the hiring of new transcriptionists and also doing all of their training and performing QA on all of their work until they were ready to be released on their own. I recently obtained my bachelor of science degree in health informatics, during which I learned much about HIPAA regulations and guidelines. I have a loving husband and two awesome “kids” ages 18 and 23. We are definitely animal lovers, and we have three dogs and a pet snake at the moment. We always have a variety of pets in our home to care for.

Chris M. from Ohio
Transcription Experience: 25 years Education: Andrews School (2003) Favorite Specialties: Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Orthopedics Brief Bio: A lot of the work I've done in the past had been clinic work, but I did have the opportunity to do some workers' comp/IME reports, which were always very interesting to me. That is what drew me to IMT. I have been an MT from my home for 16+ years as I raised my three children as a single parent and now have the joy of helping to raise my grandson. Whenever possible, I like taking my dog for a walk in a nearby park and spending time with my grandson.
“What gets lost in the big MTSOs is a sense of camaraderie and teamwork. I love working with IMT where I'm treated as a person and not a machine.”
