Experts in IME Transcription

Don't Leave It to Amateurs

In general, people are good at what they do.  That's why when your car needs service, you call a mechanic.  When your garbage disposal leaks, you call a plumber.  When someone needs an expert witness, they call you.

Perhaps, given enough time and with some measure of training or trial and error, someone else could handle those tasks, but the end result is undeniably better when the job is left to an expert who knows their field inside and out, who works in it every single day.

IME Transcriptionists Are Better for IMEs

Your in-house MT or transcription service is no doubt great at handling your day-to-day office notes and correspondence, but dropping an hour-long IME dictation in your MT's lap is like asking your accountant to take over your landscaping:  The job may very well get done, but will it get done very well?

At Independent Medical Transcription, Inc., all of our MTs have undergone rigorous testing and supervised training in order to become IME experts.  What does that mean for you?

  • We are adept at not only medical terms (anatomy, physiology, pharmaceuticals, etc.) but also legal and insurance industry terminology specific to medico-legal reviews and forensic reports.
  • We understand that such reports are legal documents that reflect upon you as a professional and must be able to stand up in a court of law.
  • By outsourcing lengthy and complex IME dictations, you have fewer questions to answer, and your office staff is free to care better for their daily tasks.

What Our Customers Are Saying:

Why Reports from IMT Are Better:

QA Staff Makes All the Difference

  • Most transcription companies hand-check only a small random sampling of their reports, just to identify any major issues their MTs may be having.
  • At IMT, every report is processed by our quality assurance team to ensure that even minor problems don't begin to creep into your important documents.
  • Our thorough review process adds value, allowing us to identify errors and carefully screen each report we transcribe for completeness, clarity, and quality.

In medical transcription, you get what you pay for, so only pay for the very best!

What About TAT?

If you're researching transcription services, you've probably noticed most of them bragging about their 24-hour turnaround time (TAT) on every report, which is perfect for daily office notes and general correspondence.  From experience, however, we know that when it comes to lengthy IME dictations, there is no one-size-fits-all solution for TAT.  Rather, turnaround can better be determined based on the specific needs of a particular report.  Maintaining some flexibility with turnaround times allows us to:

  • … prioritize reports according to due date and anticipated length so that you get the highest-caliber documents when you need them.
  • … take advantage of the quality and consistency benefits of a single MT working on your report from start to finish.
  • … perform rush jobs and weekend work at no additional charge.

In the end, if your transcription service has promised a 24-hour turnaround on your 100-page IME, you'd better check it carefully, because they probably didn't!
